The Superpower Institute's Chair, Rod Sims, joined Dr Monique Ryan MP for an evening conversation on the policy changes needed to put Australia on track for its climate targets, while fixing a federal budget ill-equipped to fund the transition.

Rod discussed two proposals developed by the Superpower Institute: a Polluter Pays Levy, which would require fossil fuel companies to bear the cost of their pollution, and a Fair Share Levy on the cashflow of Australia's largest gas producers. Together, these measures could raise $35 billion in annual tax revenue to fund clean industry growth, tax reform, and essential services including health and education.

The conversation covers how Australia can use its natural advantages to become a renewables superpower, what it will take to meet our climate goals, and the economic case for making the shift now.
